About Nick

Another day at the office I was writing computer software before I graduated, writing both a duty solicitor rota calculator (my father was then the administrator for the local duty schemes), and for part of my university project which involved controlling the heater of a cryostat via the RS232 port of a PC. After graduation in 1998 I worked briefly with Procter and Gamble (part of which involved prototyping a mini site in HTML), and then on to Pfizer where I was tasked with reconciling the output of AS/400 csv files to a general ledger dump, much of which was automated using Excel.

In early 2000 I was formally employed as a Graduate Analyst Programmer by Research Machines plc (a Microsoft Gold Partner) where I stayed for 7 years, working on a variety of projects including the corporate website and a number of commercial applications for them which were successfully used in thousands of schools across the UK.

In 2007 I started working on a contract basis for another Microsoft Gold Partner Charteris, where I spent 2 years advising, helping architect and implement asp.net/SQL solutions for their end client GAME Group plc.

In early 2009 I started working as a consultant for 3Chillies who are also another Microsoft Gold Partner specialising in innovative enterprise development. I have worked for a number of clients for 3 Chillies, and on their behalf have been lucky enough to work with clients including Microsoft, The Prime Minister's Office, The Central Office of Information (who were kind enough to acknowledge me here).
